Analysis - NN:

The deterioration of the majority of the buildings in the area is primarily cosmetic.  There are some buildings in the area that have structural damage, but not as many as would have been suspected from their outward appearance.

The vacant lots and the areas around the vacant buildings are littered with trash and overgrown vegetation, which will have to be cleared.

The NNCBO  determined that in order to be taken seriously by the city leaders and the merchants, it  must:

• Be better organized and unified as a community
  
  

• Hire a planning consultant
  
  

• Demonstrate to the city leaders how redeveloping the New Neighborhood area would be good for the whole city
  
  

• Demonstrate to the  merchants how they can benefit from moving back into the area.
