The Planning Process
Goals & Objectives - DSN:
The DSNI determined that the goals and objectives for the area would be:
"Development without displacement is a central goal of the plan" (Medoff, 108).
To make the first priority to focus "efforts on physcial development, business development and services" (Medoff, 48) within the core area.
Incorporate the surrounding area into the overall planning for services as "a secondary area of emphasis" (Medoff, 48).
"… enhance the neighborhood's image as well as its health and safety" (Medoff, 70).
Begin a program of economic development within the area.
