The Planning Process

Alternatives - NN:



The NNBCO determined that alternatives to city funded resources for redevelopment  needed to be in place.  The residents and current merchants agreed that they would:

  • Provide their own resources (Labor and money)

  • Seek funding outside of the area and if necessary outside of the city

  • Proceed legally without interference from the city's "red tape'



In order to proceed with the planning process, the NNBCO agree that in addition to physically redeveloping the area,a public relations (PR)  and marketing strategy would be needed.  The PR/Marketing strategy would be necessary to:

  • Reintroduce the city and merchants to the area

  • Promote the area's new image

  • Point out the beneficial features of the area

  • Invite the city leaders and merchants to "experience" the area
